Day 4:
Mango Tree Road
After crossing seemingly endless sand dunes covered in Teak forests we descend
onto the Zambezi floodplains and travel the beautiful and picturesque
Mango-Tree-Road, leading us north to Kalabo. Beautiful Zambian villages are
the highlight, before we find a space in the forest to camp.
Wild Camping (Meals: B, L, D).
Day 5 & Day 6 & Day 7 Day 8:
Liuwa Plains National Park
We arrive early in the Liuwa Plains National Park. This remote park
in the far west is pristine wilderness, which to the ardent bush lover, makes
it its biggest attraction and the rewards are great.
In November, with the onset of the rains the wildebeest migration
arrives from Angola. Massive herds of blue wildebeest traverse
the Liuwa Plains National Park and thousands of wildebeest can be seen
on their journey as they search for palatable grasses and following these
herds are the Hyenas of Liuwa plains, prowling wild dog and prides of lion.
Other unusual antelope found include oribi, red lechwe, steinbuck, duiker,
tsessebe and roan. The Jackal, serval, wildcat, wild dog as well as lion and
hyena are the predators of the area. Many birds migrate here during the rains
and massive flocks of birds can be seen as they migrate south. Some of the
more notables are the white bellied bustards, secretary bird, red billed and
hottentot teals, crowned and wattled cranes, long tailed whydah, sooty chat,
yellow throated longclaw, large flocks of black winged pratincoles around the
pans, fish eagle, tawny eagle, marshall eagle, woodland kingfisher, pink
throated longclaw. The plains are dotted with woodlands which also make for
excellent birding.
Wild camping (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 9:
Liuwa Plain National Park - Ngonye Falls (Sioma Falls)
We leave the park after an early morning game drive. There will be time to
visit the local market in Kalabo. Then we head south toward Ngonye Falls, also
known as Sioma Falls, being just outside the village of Sioma.
Wild Camping en-route (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 10 & Day 11:
Ngonye Falls (Sioma Falls)
These beautiful falls mark the transition point of the Zambezi Rivers’
flow from Kalahari sand floodplain to basalt dyke - the latter eventually
contributing to the magnificent gorges of the Victoria Falls. The
horseshoe-shaped Ngonye Falls are mostly impressive because of the sheer
volume of water that cascades over the staggered twenty metre drop. An
interesting aspect is that the river flows underneath the rock on either side
of the falls. It’s quite remarkable to stand upon them, feeling and hearing
the underground flow. Until now, this pristine wilderness is completely
unknown to tourists. We will make a day excursion to the falls, picnic lunch
and swimming in the mighty Zambezi.
Wild Camping (Meals: B, L, D)
Day 12 & Day 13:
Livingstone, Victoria Falls
After descending the gruelling road along the western bank of the Zambezi, we
cross the river and arrive in Livingstone late afternoon. The next day you
will have enough time to visit the falls and to participate in the many
adventure activities.
Accommodation in a comfortable Lodge in Livingstone (Meals: B, L & B)
Day 14 & Day 15:
Chobe National Park - Savuti Marsh
Departing early from Livingstone to catch the ferry at Kazungula we once again
enter Botswana, we camp in Chobe after re-supplying in the small town of
Kasane, the next day we move on to Savuti Marsh in the southern section of
Chobe.
Wild camping in exclusive wilderness sites. (Meals: B, L, D)

of the Okavango Delta, searching for animals.
