ITINERARY:
Day 1
Windhoek – Kalahari Desert
On arrival at the Windhoek Airport you will be welcomed by a company
representative and assisted onto your charter flight. Departure by charter
flight on route to the western Kalahari region. Conduct a late afternoon
sunset nature drive excursion in open safari vehicles.

Day 2
Namib Naukluft Park
Conduct an early morning nature drive through the parallel dunes of the
Kalahari dune belt. Late morning departure from the Kalahari Region by charter
flight crossing the western escarpment towards the Namib Desert. Midday
arrival, conduct a late afternoon nature drive excursion in safari vehicles.

Day 3
Namib Naukluft Park - Sossusvlei
Conduct an early morning excursion in safari vehicles to the Namib Naukluft
Park to the famed Namib Sand Sea and to the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes. Once
in the desert optional excursions are conducted on foot to photograph the dune
landscape and the desert ecology or to climb some of the highest known dunes
in the world. A light breakfast is served under the spreading Camel thorn
acacia trees (Acacia eriloba) before returning to the lodge. Afternoon nature
drive activities in safari vehicles are conducted on the reserve.

An optional extra ballooning safari can be reserved to provide an
unforgettable sunrise over the Namib Desert.
Day 4
Otjiwarongo – Okonjima – AFRICAT Foundation
After a leisurely breakfast continue via charter flight crossing the Namib
Sand Sea on route to the coastal town of Swakopmund. This route includes a
scenic flight along the “Skeleton Coast” viewing the “Edward Bohlen (1909)”
and “Shaunee (1976)” shipwrecks and Sandwich Harbour. Once in Swakopmund you
will have a brief opportunity to explore Namibia’s premier holiday resort
before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. During the afternoon continue
with your charter flight returning to the interior and the Omboroko Mountain
retreat of Okonjima. The Okonjima Guest farm (translated from the Herero
language, as “place of the baboons”) is a privately run family guest farm. An
afternoon activity will include an introduction to the work conducted by the
AfriCat Foundation. This unique program will enable you to experience some of
Namibia’s most beautiful cat species and is renowned for the excellent
opportunities to view and photograph both leopard and cheetah. An evening
activity to a local viewing hide provides the ideal opportunity to view some
of the more elusive Namibian nocturnal mammals.

Day 5
Windhoek
Your day will begin with a light breakfast served at the “Lion Lapa” before
continuing to a second of the AfriCat Foundations projects. After returning to
the lodge for a late breakfast you will be transferred to the airfield for
your return charter flight to the Windhoek Airport where you will connect with
your regional or international scheduled departure.
