ITINERARY:

Day 1
Wednesday (unguided)
Pick-up by your driver from your hotel in Windhoek around Lunchtime. Travel via the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass and Solitaire to your comfortable lodge bordering the Namib Desert. Enjoy the desert feeling, miles of desolate and beautiful Namib Desert - unique in Southern Africa.
DBB – preferably Namib Naukluft Lodge

Day 2
Thursday
Early morning departure for your Sossusvlei excursion. You have the opportunity to climb some of the highest sand dunes in the world; admire the picturesque scenery and the fauna and flora of the desert. Visit the rugged Sesriem Canyon before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon join a guided nature drive to the ‘marble mountain’ (drinks for own account) or relax on your verandah and enjoy a spectacular sunset.
FB – preferably Namib Naukluft Lodge

Day 3
Friday (unguided)
After breakfast travel via Kuiseb Pass to Swakopmund. Arrive around Lunchtime in your Hotel in Swakopmund. Rest of the day at leisure.
BB Swakopmund region – preferably Hansa Hotel

Day 4
Saturday (unguided)
Explore lovely Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (for own account) in Swakopmund: Tour through historical town or the Mondesa township, quad-biking, sand-boarding; Living Desert Tour, scenic flight over Skeleton coast or catamaran or boat cruise at Walvis Bay. Many optional activities are on offer (for own account): visit aquarium, museum or crystal gallery, and many more. At dinner you will meet your tour guide and fellow travellers which join you on the Northern Tour.
DBB Swakopmund – preferably Hansa Hotel

Day 5
Sunday
Depart early morning on the salt road towards Henties Bay, past some pans and an array of bird life. Visit Twyfelfontein and the Organ Pipes on way into Damaraland. Lunch packs en route. We will arrive at our remote lodge during the late afternoon.
LP + DBB Damaraland – preferably Grootberg Lodge

Day 6
Monday
Enjoy a morning scenic drive in rocky Damaraland with a guide of the lodge. Return to the lodge for lunch. Spent the afternoon at leisure or join a guided walk where you are introduced to the rich flora and fauna of the area.

Day 7
Tuesday
Leave Damaraland. Visit a Himba village near Kamanjab and learn more about the culture and the tradition of this half-nomadic people. Continue via the little town of Outjo (Lunch stop; Lunch for own account) to Otjiwarongo for overnight.

Day 8
Wednesday
Join a local guide on a guided morning walk through the small game park surrounding your Lodge. Around lunch time, passengers who booked the Etosha Tour, will arrive from Windhoek and join you. Continue via Outjo into Etosha National Park, where we undertake the first game drive in our touring vehicle. Before sunset we will leave Etosha again and drive to our lodge/safari camp outside the Park.

Day 9
Thursday
The entire day will be spent in the park, exploring the waterholes along this enormous saltpan. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (lunch for own account).

Day 10
Friday
Another day of explorations in this world famous National Park. Your guide will introduce you to the complex subject of managing such an enormous reserve. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (lunch for own account).
DBB - preferably Rest camp inside the Etosha National Park; alternatively privately owned lodge near the Park

Day 11
Saturday
Depart the Rest camp or Lodge and travel south towards Otjiwarongo. Opportunity to join the group en route to Victoria Falls. Continue towards Windhoek via Okahandja where we will visit a local handicraft market. Tour ends on arrival in Windhoek late afternoon.
