ITINERARY:
Day 1 - Tuesday
Erongo Region
Starting our journey from Windhoek, we travel North West to Namibia’s
highest mountain, the Brandberg. This area was inhabited by numerous tribes
thousands of years ago, as the volcanic soil sustains vast vegetation for
animals to feed on. Our lodge is a serene location to view Kudu, Baboons and
agile Klipspringers, while a variety of birds use the huge granite boulders as
breeding grounds.
Accommodation: Brandberg White Lady Lodge: app. 390km
Day 2 - Wednesday
Damaraland
Heading north, we reach Twyfelfontein, a heritage site renowned for its
2500 different bushman rock paintings and engravings. Other geological
attractions visited today consist of the Burnt Mountain, the aptly named Organ
Pipes and the Petrified Forest. Our lodge lies on the fringe of the Kaokoveld,
a harsh area inhabited by the rare Desert Elephant and Black Rhinoceros.
Accommodation: Rustig Toko Lodge: app. 405km
Day 3
Thursday
Kaokoland
Today we visit a traditional Himba Village to learn more about the culture
and traditions of these proud and statuesque peoples, one of the last truly
nomadic tribes on earth. Our lodge for the evening awards a stunning view over
this untamed and mysterious part of the country, in particular as the setting
sun paints the surrounding mountains into different shades of red and orange.
Accommodation: Opuwo Country Lodge: app. 290km
Day 4 & Day 5
Friday & Saturday
Epupa Falls - Kaokoland
We travel further north into this vast and untouched land to the Kunene
River, where the next two nights will be spent at the majestic Epupa Falls.
Here the Kunene drops 35 meters into a gauge before meandering to the Atlantic
Ocean. Activities in this pristinely beautiful environment include scenic
walks, canoe trips, excellent birding as well as terrific photo opportunities.
Accommodation: Epupa Camp: app. 200km
Day 6 - Sunday
Oshana Region
Today we travel via the graves of Ovahimba Chieftains and the Ruacana
Falls into the “Region of the four O’s”, home to eight Oshiwambo cultural
groups. We will visit interesting historical sights, including war graves, an
Owambo King’s residence and the Ongulumbashe Monument, commemorating Namibia’s
liberation struggle that began here on 26th August 1966.
Accommodation: Oshakati Country Lodge: app. 420km
Day 7
Monday
Etosha National Park
After breakfast, we have the opportunity to visit a local homestead of the
Oshiwambo tribe. Highlights include a traditional “Kraal” inhabited by local
residents, where we learn about local life and customs. We may even be able to
sample some of the local food eaten in this area. Our focal point for the next
two days will be the Etosha National Park, which we enter in the late
afternoon.
Accommodation: Mokuti Lodge: app. 230km

The Etosha National Park consists of 22’270 km² of pure bliss for nature

Leaving Etosha, we travel via the mining town of Tsumeb and the “Maize
Triangle” to Rundu, where our lodge lies along the lush banks of the Okavango

quaint museum that offers us unique insight into the cultural, historical as
well as the agricultural history of Namibia.
