ITINERARY:

Day 01:
Windhoek - Kalahari
Drive from Windhoek via Dordabis, Uhlenhorst and Stampriet to Kamelruhe Guesthouse, Gochas.
Visit en route the oldest Karakul weavery of Namibia.
Accommodation: KAMELRUHE GUESTHOUSE (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 02:
Fish River Canyon
Drive along the Auob River, visit to the Kokerboom (Quiver tree), to Keetmanshoop, Proceed past the Naute Dam to the Canon Lodge.
CANON LODGE (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 03:
Southern Namib
Visit the Fish River Canyon, the second largest canyon of the world. This gigantic ravine, in places almost 500 metres deep, has been gorged out of vast undulating plain in the course of thousands of years. Proceed to Klein Aus via Seeheim and Aus. This drive takes you through intriguing ‘moon’ landscape of endless desert vistas and bizarre rock formations.
Accommodation: KLEIN AUS VISTA (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 04:
Lüderitz
Day Tour to Lüderitz. The first German settlement in Namibia, named after the merchant Adolf Lüderitz from Bremen, who bought this area from the Hottentots in 1883. This small harbour town is perched on rugged black rock, offset by the deep blue waters of the bay, and is surrounded by bays, coves and fjords. During the morning visit to the ‘ghost town’ of Kolmanskop where diamonds were first discovered in Namibia. Afterwards sightseeing in and around Lüderitz.

Day 05:
Southern Namib
Continue through the scenic Neisip Plain and drive along the edge of the Namib Desert, the Tiras Mountains and the Nubib Mountains to Hammerstein.
Accommodation: HAMMERSTEIN LODGE (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 06:
Namib Naukluft Park
In the early morning depart to an excursion to the Sesriem Canyon and Sossusvlei, a large clay pan in the centre to the Namib Desert, surrounded by the highest sand dunes in the world.
In the late afternoon take part in a spectacular dune drive including sundowner on top of the dunes.
Accommodation: NAMIB DESERT LODGE (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 07:
Windhoek
Drive via Remhoogte Pass and Rehoboth to the Oanob Dam.
Return to Windhoek. Arrival in the late afternoon.
Accommodation: SAFARI COURT (bed/breakfast)

Day 08:
Swakopmund
Travel via Khomashochland, down the Gamsberg Pass into the Namib.
After a picnic lunch proceed through the Namib Naukluft Park. Then on to the Welwitschia Plain and the so-called “moon valley”. Arrival in Swakopmund at about sunset.
Accommodation: HOTEL EBERWEIN OR BEACH LODGE (bed/breakfast).

Day 09:
Swakopmund
After breakfast depart to Walvis Bay for a boat cruise with champagne,
fresh oysters, and snacks on board. Return to Swakopmund.
In the afternoon sightseeing in Swakopmund and time at leisure.
Accommodation: HOTEL EBERWEIN OR BEACH LODGE (bed/breakfast).

Day 10:
Damaraland
Proceed to the famous Erongo area. After arrival at Ai Aiba “the rock painting Lodge”
you have time to relax either at the Pool or during a walk around the Lodge. In the late afternoon sundowner drive in open vehicle.
Accommodation: AI AIBA LODGE (Dinner/bed/breakfast)

Day 11:
Damaraland
Early morning start for a 3 hours drive in open vehicle on the premises of the Lodge. Numerous pre-historic rock-paintings will draw you into the spell of mystic Africa.
Afterwards proceed to the Ugab Valley.
Accommodation: VINGERKLIP LODGE OR SIMILAR (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 12:
Etosha National Park
Drive to the famous Etosha National Park. First game-viewing drive.
Accommodation: TOSHARI LODGE or similar (Dinner/ bed/ breakfast).

Day 13:
Etosha National Park
Full day of game-viewing in the Etosha National Park, at the waterholes or in the open countryside.
Accommodation: TOSHARI LODGE OR SIMILAR (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 14:
Etosha National Park
Full day of game-viewing in the Etosha National Park.
Accommodation: ETOSHA AOBA LODGE OR SACHSENHEIM GUESTFARM (dinner/bed/ breakfast).

Day 15:
Otjiwarongo area
After breakfast proceed via Tsumeb to the Hoba Meteorite. En route visit Lake Otjikoto and the Mine Museum. In the afternoon Game drive on the farm.
Accommodation: FRANS INDONGO LODGE OR SIMILAR (dinner/bed/breakfast).

Day 16:
Windhoek
After breakfast return to Windhoek via Okahandja, visit the graves of the Herero chiefs and of
the German Schutztruppe.
Arrival in Windhoek in the late afternoon.
