All visitors require valid passports and return air tickets. Those carrying South African, Irish Republic or Australian passports and UK nationals resident in Zambia or travelling in groups organised by recognised Zambian tour operators do not require entry visas.
Nationals of all other countries require visas which are valid for six months. These should preferably be obtained from embassies or consulates in the country of origin or from the Zambian High Commission even though visas are available at points of entry into Zambia. On departure there is a once-off airport tax of US$20.
If visitors have passed through infected areas, yellow fever and cholera inoculation certificates will be required at the point of entry. An International Certificate of Vaccination booklet is required as an entry document even if proof of inoculation is not required.
